Bringing a wealth of experience from both the private and not-for-profit sectors, Jason spent a decade on the Royal British Legion Board of Trustees, including serving as National Chair of the organisation for three years.
Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation has announced that Jason Coward CBE has become the new Chair of its Board of Trustees.
Jason succeeds Susanne Given, who has stepped down after more than five years of dedicated service to the organisation, guiding the Foundation through a period of significant change.
An experienced commercial leader with an extensive track record of senior roles in marketing, Jason’s skills and experience will help us enormously with our fundraising ambitions. He also brings significant board-level and chairing experience to the role.
With a background in strategic leadership, governance and business transformation, Jason will bring valuable guidance on how we can increase the impact of our work and maximise our influence with local and national stakeholders.
Jason has a long-standing commitment to the charitable sector through his work as National Chair of the Royal British Legion’s Board of Trustees and as a volunteer. This, combined with his commercial and marketing acumen, will be invaluable as we transform our fundraising and influencing activities.
“I am delighted to be joining the Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation Board as its Chair and believe passionately in its mission to help more people to live healthier for longer.
“Across my commercial and not-for-profit career, I have always been driven by the opportunity to shape organisations navigating significant change and helping them realise their full potential and impact on behalf of those they serve.
“I am ambitious for the Foundation and look forward to working with our highly talented team of experts to create lasting differences to as many lives as possible.”
Incoming Chair, Jason Coward CBE
“Jason will be leading our Board at an exciting time, as we begin a new appeal to transform the Evelina London Children’s Hospital and apply the lessons we have learned about the economic and environmental determinants of health equity to the new drive for Neighbourhood Health.
“The Foundation will also benefit from his guidance as we continue to develop the infrastructure to support the SC1 London health and life sciences innovation district.
“His experience with the Poppy Appeal and in marketing, as well as board and executive leadership, makes him a great appointment to lead Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation at this time. We are all very pleased to welcome him as our new Chair.”
Laurie Lee, Chief Executive of Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation.
