Laurie Lee Joins Leaders to Spotlight SC1’s Bold Vision for Health and Life Sciences

As one of SC1’s seven founding members, the Foundation is helping deliver an ambitious vision: transforming south central London into a world-leading health and life sciences innovation district. SC1 is already a thriving ecosystem of public sector partners, innovators, and entrepreneurs working together at the intersection of health, technology, and data – driving health equity locally and globally.

The event, held at The Shard, showcased cutting-edge innovation including AI-powered cancer care and surgical imaging, with speakers such as Professor Anita Grigoriadis of Pharos AI, who also spoke at the Foundation Away Day last month.

Spokespeople from our partners Oxford Properties and Reef + Partners shared updates on Snowsfields Quarter, one of SC1’s flagship developments. Recently granted unanimous planning approval by Southwark Council, Snowsfields Quarter will deliver 245,000 sq. ft. of specialist laboratory space, create 890 jobs, and set new standards for sustainability with a net-zero carbon target and BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ certification.
