Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation appoints Laurie Lee as permanent CEO

We’re pleased to announce Laurie Lee has been appointed permanent Chief Executive Officer.

As Chief Executive Officer, Laurie will provide strategic leadership across the Foundation’s five routes to impact, including Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation, Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity, Evelina London Children’s Charity, Guy’s Cancer Charity and Impact on Urban Health. He has been our interim CEO since April 2023.

Laurie will lead on upholding the organisation’s values and vision to create the foundations of a healthier society. His permanent appointment comes as the Foundation continues to evolve after a period of rapid expansion and growth.

Laurie brings with him a wealth of experience in the charitable sector. In his previous role as Chief Executive Officer at CARE International UK, he helped to lead a coalition of organisations to achieve the 2019 global law against sexual violence and harassment at work, which protects over 500 million women in 50 countries with no domestic legal protection. He has previously held senior leadership positions at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and as a senior government advisor. He holds board positions with several other charities.

Laurie says:

I am determined and confident that, together and with our people and partners, we can create the positive impact we know is needed. We will do this through our three NHS charities, Impact on Urban Health, and as an investor, to help everyone to stay healthier, for longer.”
