New Trustees to our board

In 2020, we welcomed Dr Danny Sriskandarajah, Chief Executive of Oxfam GB and Managing Director of Healthy.io to our board of Trustees.

We’re excited to welcome two highly respected leaders in digital technology, health and civil society to our board. Dr Danny Sriskandarajah, currently Chief Executive for renowned aid and development charity Oxfam GB, joins us alongside Katherine Ward, Chief Commercial Officer and Managing Director of digital healthcare start-up Healthy.io.

Danny has been the Chief Executive of Oxfam GB since 2019. Prior to this, he held leadership roles at the global civil society alliance CIVICUS, think-tank the Institute for Public Policy Research and the Royal Commonwealth Society, a Commonwealth charity.

The COVID-19 pandemic has cast the spotlight on urban health like never before. I look forward to working with colleagues in driving Guy’s and St Thomas’ Foundation to use its resources, networks and expertise as wisely as possible to help London and the world respond to this pandemic and promote a just recovery.

Katherine brings extensive expertise to our board with over 26 years of experience in the healthcare sector. Before joining Healthy.io, she held both provider and payer roles in the UK’s National Health Service and was the Chief Executive of healthcare service provider UnitedHealth UK. Katherine will be chairing our Strategy Advisory Group and the children’s mental health programme committee.

I have watched the work of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Foundation from afar for a number of years. I have been in awe of how it uniquely impacts urban health locally in Lambeth and Southwark, nationally across the UK and indeed globally. I am thrilled to be able to contribute my experience in global healthcare, both public and private, to such an impressive organisation.

If the current crisis tells organisations anything, it’s about the importance of adaptability and diversity of new perspectives. Danny and Katherine’s invaluable expertise across sectors will help us navigate the current climate and shape the impact we have as a Foundation.”

Our two new Trustees join eight other experts on our board. Together, they help shape the strategic direction of our work towards more equitable health.
